Who am I and what am I doing?

I am a mom with a son in a Federal Prison. My son has been incarcerated since October 2005. My family and I also faced charges and I have been through the court system. Early on we discovered that inmates have limited resources to the outside world. I have been assisting my son since his incarceration.

On his behalf I have researched legal issues, case law, statutes, legal forms, etc. I have ordered books, magazine subscriptions, quarterly packages, and gifts/cards for family and friends Along with performing many other services that he cannot do for himself.

Throughout this whole process, he has been telling me that there are many inmates who don’t have anyone to help them the way I have helped him. He said they could use a friend like me.

So I established

The Inmates Friend 

Ever since I have been helping inmates with many useful services. I have been asked over and over again if I could make a page for their art work.  After much thought,

A way for inmates to showcase their art and talents from beyond the walls of the prison system.

We realize that everyone has made mistakes in their lives, but who are we to pass judgement.

The Inmates Friend

Everyone needs a friend! That is why we are here! To be that person, when you are all alone. Sometimes friends and family are to busy, sometimes you really do not have anyone to help you. The Inmates Friend is here to fullfill your requests. Providing all the services you could possibly need while you are incarcerated.

Each Inmates is allowed to establish an account with us through money order or personal check from family. We then start a retainer account for each inmate, as you request our services, we provide you with a service statement and the new account balance. Once your account reaches zero, we keep it open but no longer do any requested work, until funds are once again established.

Artist Incarcerated

Art has been proven to be a very therapeutic form of recovery for many issues. Inside these pages you will find many different styles of artwork. These pieces of art give each inmate a new sense of pride and accomplishment, for something positive they created. They feel connect to the outside world. Even that little connection can help assimilate them back into society as a productive citizen. Each purchase brings them one step closer.

The Inmates Friend was started to help those who have limited resources to receive help.

We know how hard it is for the friends and family of the incarcerated to help the inmates of their family. It is so very easy to get caught up in their own daily lives and duties that the inmate ends up coming last.

That is why we are here!

To be that help for the incarcerated and their family. Families are more than welcome to contact us with the request from their incarcerated family members.
